About Us

Who are Youth for Christ?

Youth for Christ (YFC) is a national Christian charity that was founded by Billy Graham in 1946. Working with around 300,000 young people each month, we draw alongside teens from every background and culture in Britain. Our 150 fulltime staff and countless local volunteers specialise in working with unchurched youth: communicating and demonstrating the Christian faith. In all of our youth work we use a four D approach:

Demonstrate … God’s love
Declare … relevantly the good news about Jesus
Decision … Giving young people the opportunity to accept Christ as their personal Saviour
Disciple … Serve the local Church by providing both evangelistic and discipleship resources

On this website you can discover more about the different areas of our exciting movement, which includes:

1) More than 60 Local Centres: YFC Local Centres tackle the real issues facing youth today, such as: family breakdown, binge drinking, bullying and self-worth. They run activities such as: drop-in youth clubs, school lessons, social-action projects, and detached youthwork on the streets. More > > >

2) yfcone: Youth for Christ’s unique approach to mission is to reach youth with youth. We teach young-adults how to use their individual gifts in music, sport, leadership, dance, youthwork, and communication, to share their faith with their peers, and place volunteers in teams located around Britain. 3) Resourcing over 1000 Churches: to reach out to their local young people with relevant youth resources and evangelistic activity holidays. Mettle, our newest resource, enables churches to reach and disciple 14-18 year olds with fresh, ongoing material. More > > >

4) Reflex: is our nationwide initiative helping Young Offenders in custody to build a fresh start. YFC are investing in young people on the fringe of society, building their self-esteem by encouraging creative reflection and positive expression. We also provide care for ex-offenders, meeting them at the gate after their release and helping them to find a place to live, a job, and a church. More > > >
