God breaks through at Youth for Christ Events

26 October, 2009

Andy Hancock, Residentials Coordinator, tells of a recent Fort Rocky where young people gave their lives to Christ and others were miraculously healed.  “I was preaching on Saturday night, and just as we came to the response I left a short time of silence for God to speak.  The moment we went silent I felt God say to me that He wanted to heal someone’s back so I shared that with the young people and told them to go to their youth leader if they felt it was for them.  During the response lots of young people committed and recommitted their lives and a young lad came up to me to say God had healed his back.  As I walked to the sound desk I heard a cheer from another group, I looked back and the youth leader signaled to me that God had healed someone else’s back.  Already amazed I was totally dumbfounded to then learn that a third young person had been healed when he asked his youth leader to pray for his back.  All in all, I am so thankful that God moved so mightily and impacted so many young people’s lives.”

Through a relevant, dynamic and interactive youth event called ICON TV, YFC’s National Evangelists Nathan Iles and Kate John are challenging, educating and inspiring young people to think about the “consumer empire” under which they live, its cost on their wallets, identities, relationships, the environment, the developing world and what Jesus was talking about when He promised Freedom.

Following the first ICON TV event in Gloucester, Michelle – whose son attended – had this to say, “my son bought along 2 non-christian friends from school and they both thought it was ‘really good’.  It was challenging and thought provoking…I’m sure the evening will remain with those young folk who were there and we’ll only know the consequences in eternity!”

Nathan adds, “The potential to see young people encounter God through this dynamic, interactive and evangelistic event is huge.  ICON TV not only communicates the gospel but also helps young people better understand the world in which they live.  We would love to bring ICON to a location near you.”
