For Your Prayers

5 November, 2009

22nd - 28th November - YFC Senior managers are going to spend some time away, yet their thoughts will be on strategy and how YFC can function more effectively. While it is a time for thought, it is also one for reflection and waiting on the Lord. Please pray that all who attend are able to hear from the Lord and that all areas of YFC would benefit as a result of this.

29th Nov - 5th December   – Coventry YFC run 'Junction 7 [up]lift[ed]' which is a monthly worship event for secondary school students. It provides an opportunity to engage with God & fuel faith through spirit filled worship, relevant & thought provoking teaching & cutting edge multimedia. This month's theme is "the intimate nature of God".  Please pray that these events will be well supported and that the young people who attend will come to know God.

6th - 12th Dec - Please pray for our Scotland team under Graeme Brooks’ direction and for all our local centres in Scotland, that God would refresh and renew them over their Christmas break. God is at work up and down the country through local centres and Scotland is no exception.  Through youth clubs, detached youth-work on the street, sports and many other things, YFC workers are engaging with young people and challenging them to follow Jesus.

13th - 19th Dec  - Full Team meetings are a great chance for YFC staff to come together and share what is going on throughout the ministry. They are a time for reflection, prayer and praise to God for his goodness towards us. Following the meeting, we will be having our Christmas Meal, please pray that all would have a good time, relax and enjoy great fellowship and a great meal together.

20th - 26th Dec - This week sees the start of the Christmas break for all YFC staff. Please pray for a relaxing break and time of refreshment ready for our Staff Conference at the beginning of January.

27th Dec - 2nd Jan - Thank you for your support in 2009. As we move into 2010 please pray that many more would respond to the Good News of Jesus Christ.  Around the country, YFC workers are engaging with young people where they are at and communicating the Good News in a way that they can understand.  Pray for all our workers, that they would be sustained by God during the tough times, that they would know His peace and that He would bless their efforts to reach today's youth.

Jan 3rd – 9th - YFC annual Staff Conference for all UK staff and volunteers is taking place this week.  Taking place at Bodelwyddan Castle in Wales, Staff Conference is a great opportunity for British Youth for Christ to come together and enjoy fellowship, food and teaching.  During the week, Bible teaching, worship, prayer time and seminars make up an action packed programme.  Please pray that it will be a time of renewed vision for YFC as we start the new year.

Jan 10th - 16th – Please pray for YFC’s Head Office Team as we start back in the office and for good leadership across the whole of YFC.  In Halesowen, our dedicated team of National Staff work from Head Office to oversee, coordinate and resource all that YFC is doing throughout the UK.  Please pray for these committed people who serve the ministry, that they would know God's blessing and would feel valued for the crucial part they play in taking the Good News relevantly to Britain's young people.

Jan 17th - 23rd – Please pray for our Communications Department as they ensure our partners receive inspiring stories and keep people up to date with what is going on through YFC.  Merisa, Tim and Rich also oversee the production of all YFC publications and promotional materials and manage YFC systems and databases.  As those working to raise the profile of the work, please pray for the right opportunities and the ability to take them in order to declare the great things that God is doing through YFC.

Jan 24th - 30th – Please thank God for all those who give to our work around the country and support all the staff and volunteers involved with YFC.  We are always amazed by the support, both prayer and financial, people give us.  It is so valuable to us, that men and women of God stand with us to see young people transformed by the Good News.  Please pray that God would bless our partners richly for the support they give us.
