Skateboarders explore Christianity on ‘Switch’ course

Bath Youth for Christ have seen an evangelistic discipleship course called ‘switch’ make a real impact on young skaters in the last few years.  The course lets young people who skate explore the Christian faith for themselves in a way that is both relevant and exciting.  The 12 session course has been so successful that it is now being launched in America, where Skate ministry is a much more accepted and structured form of evangelism.* [BBC News website – 03/08/09]

Evangelistic Activity Weekend positively impacts young people

Following recent reports in the press that Richard Dawkins’ foundation has donated to a 5-day retreat called ‘Camp Quest’, a secular alternative to Christian Camps with the tagline “beyond belief”, Youth for Christ is seeing many exciting things happen at Fort Rocky – its own outrageously fun activity weekend with a difference. 

Fort Rocky goes global as new Residentials Coordinator starts

On the weekend of the 15th-17th May at the Pioneer Centre in Kidderminster, Andy Hancock – the new YFC Residentials Coordinator kicked off his first Fort Rocky (YFC’s evangelistic activity weekend) and it was a huge success.  The theme this year is going “Around the world in a weekend” and freedom is looked at and what it means for young people today.  “Around 160 young people came and we saw God really move, which was amazing.” says Andy.

YFC Team completes Land's End to John O'Groats Bike Ride

At 3.30pm on Sunday 31st May Gavin Calver, Youth for Christ’s new National Director, Phil Knox, Kris Calver and Lea Milligan reached the end of their 2 week sponsored bike ride -covering over 950 miles, safely and with joyful song.  So far over £25,000 has been raised to help fund YFC’s projects with young people across the UK.
