VIEW IMPACT HOLIDAYS BROCHURE FOR 2009

Holidays in 2008 were a great hit. Young people enjoyed the fun activities on offer at a wide range of holidays in locations across Britain - from North Wales to Dorset. One person said of one of our holidays, “Each time I go, it helps me in my spiritual life.” Another said “it was so much fun and I learnt loads about God. The activities are great too, especially the water ones! The tales and experiences really do speak for themselves. We advise early booking since these unique holidays fill up fast. Please be careful to note that age ranges vary.

Fantastic leaders offer action-packed programmes and plenty of choices, so whatever your ideal holiday might be, you’ll find it here. Bring some friends or go on your own and meet lots of new people. No matter what activities you’re looking for in a holiday – camping, rock-climbing, mountains or swimming pools there will be something to suit you.

We look forward to getting your applications!

Notes for parents and leaders

Youth for Christ Impact Holidays are designed specifically for the age ranges listed. Be sure to check before you book. Over 18s do fill in the Application form yourself. Holidays are designed to be:

Fun
  • Filled with different activities to cater for all interests
  • Young people develop self-confidence as they learn new skills and try new activities

Safe
  • Sites are secure, safe and familiar to group leaders
  • Activities meet current legislation
  • Leaders are committed, experienced Christians

Christian
  • Christianity is lived out and presented in a relaxed way. Discussions invite questions rather than prescribe answers and no pressure is put on the young people.
  • Christian teaching and principles underpin each holiday and leaders seek to love, include and develop each individual participant
  • Meeting other Christians the same age stimulates friendship and encourages corporate fellowship, prayer and Bible study

If you know young people who would benefit from coming on a YFC Impact Holiday but may be struggling financially, please consider applying to:

[this fund needs to be the main, most prominent one, and the other one much lower profile]

The Joan Boswell Fund

Set up in memory of Joan who wanted to encourage Christian residential holidays, Youth for Christ’s own trust fund helps young people to meet the cost of their holiday if they need help financially. Apply to Gavin Calver who administers this fund at Youth for Christ.

If you are unsuccessful with the above trust fund, you could also try applying to a separate, independent fund called:

The David Chilcott Fund

This independent fund also helps pay for young people to go on Christian holidays. A typical grant might be around £70, or half the cost. About 200 people are helped each year. To obtain an application form send a stamped addressed envelope to: The Treasurer, The David Chilcott Fund, 11 Bay View Court, Bay View Road, Northam, Bideford, Devon. EX39 1TJ.
