exploRE: The Life of Jesus
Who was Jesus?
Why is He so important to Christians?
How could His teaching and example transform my world?
These are just some of the ultimate questions students are invited to investigate in exploRE: The Life of Jesus. This multi-media resource comprises 14 packed lesson plans and has been devised for use with 11 to 14 year olds as part of their Religious (and Moral) Education lessons.
Each lesson encourages students to discover the person of Jesus Christ as recorded in the gospels and explore how these accounts have influenced key Christian beliefs. Most importantly, students are given the opportunity to reflect on their own response to Jesus and discuss questions such as...
Was Jesus the Messiah the Jews were waiting for?
If Jesus offered people a picture of God himself, what is God like?
What value does Jesus’ life and teaching have for people living two thousand years later?
The resource also includes a DVD featuring updated versions of the gospel stories, vox pops and testimonies from Christians today to help students investigate the person of Jesus in a way that is both engaging and meaningful.
The 14 versatile lesson plans can be used either as a complete course or in part as a smaller unit, or as stand-alone lessons to fit in with wider thematic units. The course explores:
