The Mirembe Lent Project
The Mirembe Lent Project is simple. We are committing to give up some of our material comforts across the period of Lent and to donate the money we would have spent to our friends in Uganda YFC who run Mirembe House. This provides lodging, support and skills training for pregnant girls who find themselves homeless as a result of their pregnancy.
If you would like to join in The Mirembe Lent Project, simply do the following:
-
Think of something that you regularly spend money on that you could give up for the period of Lent:
For example… Tea, coffee or a can of something during work hours, lunch out, some or all of the bus fare, social drinks, crisps, chocolate, dessert… - Calculate how much money you would spend on this over 33 working days, or 6 and a half weeks.
- This is your ‘sponsorship figure’ – donate this amount in the online form below. If you are a tax payer, please gift aid your donation. It really makes a difference!
- Give it up on Ash Wednesday (Feb 17th).
- Resume normal service on Easter Sunday (April 4th).
Thank you for your support. May you find blessing this Lent as you bless others in turn.
