YOUTH CHAPLAIN FOR TOSCANA UNIT

A challenging and rewarding new post working with young people
 
Applications are invited for the post of part-time Youth Chaplain (10 hours per week) to work in the Toscana Juvenile Unit at HM Prison and Young Offenders Institution Foston Hall on the A50 between Derby and Uttoxeter.
 
The person appointed will be a member of the prison’s Ecumenical and Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Team. It is vital that the person is committed to working collaboratively and respecting the integrity of each faith tradition as well as working within the multi-disciplinary Staff Team. The main role will be to provide the spiritual and pastoral needs of the sixteen young women held in the Toscana Unit as well as the staff and will be accountable to the Coordinating Chaplain.
 
The chaplain will work as part of a multi-agency team, including education, healthcare, substance misuse workers, youth offending team staff and prison discipline staff. The person will look after the individual needs of each of the seventeen year old young women.

CYM is looking for a competent and effective manager to develop the business infrastructure to fulfil these tasks.  You will have a track record of successfully managing a commercial enterprise, and be passionate about Christian ministry. 

You will have:

  • Expertise of commercial operations and project management
  • Good interpersonal, leadership and people management skills
  • A creative approach to problem solving and developing policies and procedures
  • An accountancy qualification (ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent is essential
